Introduction


This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation of the seat occupation sensor simulator in BMW vehicles. This device is designed to replace the original seat of the seat, which can fail over time, and prevent the warning light of the supplementary retention system (SRS) from being turned on.

Previous requirements

Necessary tools: screwdriver, cable cutter, multimeter.

 Basic familiarity with vehicle electrical wiring.

 EMULATOR BOX OPENING:

Step 1: Switch adjustment

For BMW 1997-2006 vehicles: Place switch 1 on “ON” and switch 2 in “off”. (See image a)

For BMW 2007 and later vehicles: Place both switches, 1 and 2, in "ON". (See image b)

Step 2: Location and preparation of the seat occupation sensor

Locate the seat occupation sensor module under the front passenger seat.

Identify the cables that are connected to the sensor.

Cut the indicated cables (see image) and connect them to the simulator.

Step 3: Restart of the SRS warning code

After installing the simulator, open the seat belt in the front passenger seat.

Use a BMW diagnostic equipment to delete the SRS warning code.

Verify that the SRS warning light has turned off on the board.

Final considerations

Be sure to correctly follow the installation steps to avoid problems with the airbag system.

This device is only for use in out -of -road vehicles and should not be used in vehicles operating on public roads.
