From the racetrack straight to the road: The exhaust system with lightweight valve and titanium rear silencer generates a highly emotional, racing-like sound. It was developed specifically for M models of the 3 and 4 Series. Visually, the two 80 mm double tailpipes made of titanium with the M logo give your vehicle an unmistakable appearance. Alternatively, 93 mm carbon tailpipe trims with the M logo can be chosen.
The M Performance silencer system gives the rear of the vehicle a distinctive and individual appearance. The perforated inner pipes display a high degree of high-tech, sportiness and highlight the individual characteristics of the BMW M. High-quality alternative: You can choose between tailpipe trims in titanium and carbon to further personalise the vehicle. This system allows you to activate various modes that influence the performance of the exhaust system via the engine dynamics button:
- Sport and Sport+ modes: Extremely emotional sound, very sporty, very loud, maximum performance.
- Efficient mode: Sporty sound, clearly more sporty and emotional compared to the series, but with enough comfort for everyday use without compromise.
Optimised exhaust gas routing reinforces the characteristic sound of the 6-cylinder Bi-Turbo engine and underlines the sporty driving feeling. The silencer system is made from a high-quality material mix, with main pipes made of lightweight stainless steel and a rear silencer made entirely of titanium. It is 32% (8 kg) lighter than the standard part and was developed using the latest CAD and FEM technology, ensuring optimum fit and manufacturing quality. In addition, it can be easily installed by bolting on, without the need for welding.
